Yeee Awesome thx so much!!!

Sceptic, did you print the vibration dampers in PLA? What was your infill density? What did you notice when you started using the dampers?
I’ve got a trapezoidal Z rod, GT2 belts and 16 tooth pulleys and various other small improvements, and I’m now really attempting to refine my quality and consistency. I am well aware that vibration in general, and especially operating at a resonant frequency can wreak havoc with what we 3D printer operators are trying to accomplish.

Hello Raymond, I used PLA with a 100% infill. had to make them just a little smaller to fit them perfectly. I can print faster with the same results and less noise.

Can you tell me wich modifications you have done to use the 16 theeth pulleys. I’ve got them but not installed yet. Heard the belts are to close together without modding.

sceptic, I am using the thingiverse X tensioner 350061, and the Y tensioner 500353. I studied the forum for quite a while before taking the jump, and the GT2 belt install went well. I think due to build variation, interference might be a little different for each of us. On my K8200, the Y belt is under the rear X axis rod by about 1.5mm using my precise eyeball skills, being pulled down by the new Y tensioner. Over the rear X axis rod, the new Y belt is clearing the rod by less than a millimeter. Not touching, but close. That clearance changes slightly as the bed travels forward and backward, more clearance when the bed is back, less when the bed is forward. I don’t run at real high speeds, but if the belt resonates at certain travels, I imagine it could touch. I will keep an eye on it for wear or oil soaking if it does touch, but I seem to be OK for the moment.

Thanks to all the knowledgeable contributors to this forum, who have made my beginning steps immensely easier.

Here is mine with 0.1 mm layer and 0.25 nozzle.

very nice print.
Can you tell with what slicer you have sliced, and what settings you have used?

Thanks!
I sliced with Slic3r and I used default settings i think. I will check later, and write my settings.
