Z stop issue

I ordered and assembled the k8200 printer
after calibrating it and a few successful prints a problem happened
where I had placed the printer in relation to the computer te usb cord was streched across
it got bumped and ripped the usb port off the board
After repositioning it and gluing it back down an issue popped up
every function works EXCEPT the z axis stop
I tryed a reload of the firmware
reloaded repiter host
still nothing
I switched motor drivers and nothing
Resoldered contacts
Nothing
out of curiosity I took the z switch conection on motherboard and swapped with the y switch and it stopped the y axis when pressed
Im at a loss I really do not want to replace the motherboard
any hrl would be appreciated

Did you already test if the switch works correctly?
Measure continuity at the plug and see if it switches on and off if you press and release it by hand.

cheers,

Christian

I did , and also plugged the z switch into the y axis and and It worked to manually stop the y axis

Ah ok, i misunderstood.

Have a loock at the endstop connectors on the controller.
Maybe the USB ripoff got them damaged.

The usb port pins just press into the board
Perhaps the 4 pads on the port were grounds?
there was no traces on the board but they could hsve ripped up
but if they were grounds other issues would be there not only the end stop

The 4 pads opposite to the plug side are the actual USB signal lines.
If you ripped them off you wouldn’t be able to connect.

Does the board connect?

Board connects fine everything else works perfectly
when I said pads I meant the 4 on the edges of thd usb port that hold it to the board

ah, ok.

What happens if you disconnect the z endstop and switch it at the pins on the controller by shortening/opening?

I havent tryed that yet
currently have mother board off to check the contwct pins

Just put back together
Same issue
took the xaxis switch and plugged into zaxis port
hit z home , pressed the switch and z axis still didnt stop

Sorry for jumping into the middle.
What happens with you manually operate the switch with your finger?
On mine I had to put a longer screw and washers between the switch and plate.

No prob any help is appreciated
the issue is nothing happenes whenni press the switch manually
it keeps trying to home
dosent stop

What if you short the z endstop pins on the board?
Does it stop then?

Tryed everything
nothing worked
so I bit the bullet and ordered a new board for the printer
bit on the expensive side compared to getting a RAMPS 1.4 board but less hassle

Look here : futurashop.it/index.php?rou … name=3drag
It’s the board manufacturer, 48€ wtithout and 88€ including stepper drivers…

cheers,
