Hello,
I install a new K8200 and I have a mistake with the Z position home.
I check all functions (X, Y, Z, Head warm, fan, temperature board…), I check the XYZ microruptor and everything is OK.
When I want calibrate the distance beetween head and board, the Z axys and Z home position made mistake, he don’t go down just up. The only solution to go down is mannualy.
Ex. : I click on button “Z home” and he go up (6-7 mm).
Thanks for your help.
Jean-Michel
Sounds like you switched wires from the z motor making it turn in the wrong direction.
Can also be a wiring fault in the z endstop wiring.
Check for endstop hit messages in the repetier log.
Thanks for your help, but I don’ undertsand your reply.
When I clic button “+Z”, he go up. When I clic “-Z”, he do down but when I clic “Z home” he go up ± 6mm!!!

Ok, then the motor wiring itself should be correct i think.
Does homing in X and Y work properly?
If so, check your z-endstop wiring.
Also make sure the wires are connected to the correct pins of the endstop switch.
X and Y work properly. When I clic en X and Y home, he go to the home position and stop when the stop is activate.
I check the wiring for Z-stop and it’s OK (Red-orange, brown-brown). I don’t understand.
I try another thing, I restart computer and printer. X and Y work properly (move and home position) but button Z-home go up 6mm, +Z10 go to 10 mm up as many times as I want (ex. 3 times) and -Z10 go to down max the same number of climb.
The only problem is Z home go up…
Whne homing the Z axis the printer first lifts the nozzle a bit before lowering it to home position.
If the printer detects Z endstop it stops going down any further.
So from your description it sounds that the printer has a Z endstop signal, thus lifting the nozzle up and the immediately
stop, assuming it has already hit the endstop.
Look if your endstop wiring is connected to the correct terminals on the microswitch and if the swich functions properly.
I check the wiring and it’s correct. The endstops wiring is correct (Left=brow, Right=red).
The problem is the position for the moment is 2cm up the stopswitch, if I push :
- Z+10 => up 10mm
- Z-10 => down 10 mm (if I go up before otherwise nothing)
- Z home => up 6mm and it’s not possible to go down otherwise manually.
What happens when you hold the edstop switch pressed manually and then home?
Thanks for your help but I found it… the end switch is… broken. I replace it and it’s work.
Like i said . Endstop switch or wiring
Nice that it works now.
Happy Printing!
