Hi
Yesterday I moved my printer after 4 months. I decided to mount a webcam on the frame and I put the cord the same way as the Z-axis wires.
When all that was done I reconnect my printer and when I pressed home, the X- and Y-axis went home but the Z-axis didn’t.
The extruder just went a bit up and didn’t came down. I think it moved as much up (1 centimeter or something) as he usually does when he goes home if he is already home.
Also, Repetier-Host says it is home (Z = 0,00).
Is there anyone that can help me fix this problem?
If I left out important things, please ask.
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
My apologies, English isn’t my mother language
I did some thinking and after a while I realised that the problem maybe can come from a short circuit.
I suppose that the Z-stop stop switch is bypassed.
Does someone know this is a correct line of thought?
I just keep you guys updated with what I’m doing.
I just measured all stops with an ohm meter. If I measure the X and Y stop, the multimeter displays a zero in both cases.
But if I measure the Z stop, I get a 1 on the display.
When I push the X and Y stop while measuring, i also get a 1 on the display.
So my thoughts are that the switches are (I don’t know the exact name in english) switches that give a signal when they are untouched and no singel when they are pushed.
If this is true I suppose that I have a bad connection somewhere.
The next thing I did was unplugging an other stop switch and the bed makes the same movement as the Z-axis in the X direction (X-stop switch unplugged).
I suppose I start searching a bad connection then
That’s exactly the problem.
You have an open on the Z end stop
Yes, I found a loose connection that I couldn’t see because of the heat shrink tube.
I soldered it and now everything works as before.
Thanks for the support
Glad to hear everything is working.
