Z-Axis over-run

I am trying to set the Z-Axis stop and while the axis is moving towards ‘home’, I’ve pressed the micro switch as advised. The result of this reveres the motion and the Z-axis moves op for a short way then stops. Is this normal and if not, what can be wrong?

Many thanks, Gordon

Hi Gordon,

that’s ok. The homing for all three axes should work like this: fast approach, reverse 5 mm (X,Y) or 3 mm (Z), slow approach, stop.
If you keep the switch pressed down during the reverse movement, the second approach won’t start, since the printer will not move towards an already triggered endstop.

Cheers,

Thanks for clearing that up for me kuraasu - Gordon
