When I’am moving the Z-axis up or down there is a lot of noise on the backside of th Vertex. Is it possible to
reduce this noise?
+1 on that. My Z was vibrating the entire work table so badly that things actually fell off the edge. It was amazing, though, how the lightest fingertip touch would stop it. Usually needing my fingers elsewhere, I printed out this Thing and used a bearing from the spool holder of my unused second extruder kit. It holds together entirely by tension and my Z screw is thoroughly subdued. This mod highly recommended!
My fix for this was easier (not mine originally). Just loosen the motor coupler from the threaded rod, raise it a few mm, and make sure the rod does not touch the motor shaft when it is re-tightened. There should be a gap inside. That solved it for me.
I did the same ajustment (found it somewhere in one of the forum topics) as Bert490 and took some time for the alignment of the threaded z-rod and the motor.
The result is zero noise and a more accurate working of the z-coupler.
