Z axis endstop micro switch leaf - flexing!

has anyone had any issues with the … z axis endstop micro switch leaf?
when the end stop screw makes contact.
not only is there the micro switch activation, but also the flex of leaf activator arm.

is this a problem, that i should be worrying about.

what are people using to tighten the locking nut?
when i try i lose my accurate setting.

hope this makes sense.

many thanks for your replies in advance.

Gary:)

I’m not sure I understood what you are worried about exactly…

Make sure the actuator is tightened firmly in ± the right position

Then tilt the microswitch toward the actuator to get an accurate setting

the instructions intimate that you turn the adjustment bolts to get adjustment, as per their name!

“Now turn the ADJUSTMENT BOLT for the Z AXIS until you hear a click sound of the micro switch engaging.”

i know that the adjusters are hard to manipulate,
but, are you saying its easier to move the micro switches,
to get from the 1mm course adjustment to the 0.25mm working adjustment?
i cant see it, but your the boss.

sorry if im misunderstanding here:(

spring bends before switch clicks!

What I do is I put the extruder 0.25mm from the surface (±), where it’s supposed to be when printing. Then I tilt the microswitch until it clicks.

The microswitch by itself should click when the metal lip is parrallel to the body.

If it only clicks when the metal lip is bent beyond the body, then it would seem you have a defective microswitch. We have not seen this problem before though. What you can do is unscrew the microswitch and test it by hand to see if it clicks correctly.
