the y axis works only in one direction. I changed the plug x and y. The same problem.
I increased the current (0.49V).
The axis y- does not work. I hear a little noise when the command is activ.
I think the wire are connected right. It is no short circuit or interruption.
It is possible the step motor is defect?
I made a lot of things to find out the problem.
Now I think is the controler.
I changed two motors to check if they are ok. -> the motors are ok.
I changed two axis only with the connectors. -> the same problem, but at the other axis. I know the wiring is ok.
I changed the Driver stage unit who is plugged in. -> the same problem.
Is there a way to check the signals to the driver stage unit?
Or can I get a new contoler?
Are you from velleman?
You may want to look at this thread http://forum.velleman.eu/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=9822
If the motor is turning the wrong way
If you search the forum there is an way to request new parts
If it is the control board they may want you to send it in.
The Z-Axis only moves in one direction (upwards). If i try to move it downwards, there is a short signal (LED flashing on the z-axis driver board), a clicking of the motor and nothing more happens.
The wiring is 100% correct. I also tried to switch the motor to another channel: I connected the cable of the Z-Axis to the Y-Axis and moved the Y-Axis in the Software. Like this the Z-Axis moves both up and down. I then replaced the motor driver circuit of the Z-Axis with another one which was 100% working: Same problem, no movement of the Z-Axis downwards. I also tried to set the Voltage for current-control of the steppers to 0.55V without any changes in this behavior.
The Output Log gives the following message: echo:endstops hit: Z:10.0 (the coordinates of the z-axis are always identical to which i moved the axis upwards)
What can I do to fix this issue?
Thanks for the support.
I am still trying to solve this problem. I send the controler board to my reseller for changing this.
Looking in view days (end next week) about my success. I will post it.
I reached now the new controler board from my reseller.
I have also the same problem. It is frustrating.
Now I checked the assemly instructions in english and german. There is the same wiring showed.
Is it possible that this wiring is wrong for the y-motor?
Can I change the cable connections without destroy the powerstage? (To try the right combination)
Or is there a version conflict with firmware and the repetier-host software?
When an axis moves only in one direction it’s often because there’s a problem with the stop switch. It’s a normally closed switch and if the connection is broken the motor will turn only in one direction (opposite to the switch).
Try to swap two of the end-switch connectors and try to move the motor with the manual command (center your bed and make short moves because there will be no end-stop!!). If it works then you’ll know where the problem lies.
I’ve experienced this issue : there was a bent contact in the end-stop connector hence no contact…
raby many, many thanks for your tip. Excellent.
I solved now the problem, now everything works!
I had the screws of the endswitch to strong drawn. The result was, that the switch not worked correctly, during interruption -> that means stop the motor. I loosened the screw a little bit.
In retrospect, all clear.
