Y axis problems?

I don’t know if this is the correct area to put this but I was going through my “connecting the printer” part of the instructions and although the Z and X work perfectly I get this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYg8y2z2Dak happens. Any suggestions? As I an at a total loss here…

Looks like your motor stalls due to switched wiring.
Check if you connected the motor coils with correct polarity.

im know im going to sound like a dunce but this is the first thing ive ever done like this could you explain that for a stupid person? :smiley:

You should also check the reference voltage of the stepper driver.

What he says is that probably you have solder cable in wrong way and motor won’t turn. Step motors have 2 coils which are invert polarised and that’s how they turn rotor. In your case you have them probably connected wrong and that’s why motor is not turning, one cole is pushing it and another braking it.
