Y-axis jump

I’m getting a jump on the y-axis. However its not until around 50mm off the printbed. I’ve had this same problem both before and after I added the z-axis upgrade kit. Any ideas anybody?

Also the z-axis upgrade…should it have anything at the top to secure the threaded rod?

I had that,
Some say that it can be fixed to up the voltage of the steppe motor.
But My problem: that the gear on the motor was not tighten enough with the little screw.
So the gear slides almost free on the steppe motor.

The gear that you slide on this

Sorry for my bad english.

Ok, thank you for the reply. I’ll take a look

This can have several causes :

Loose pulleys
too loose belts
too tight belts
too high accerleration setting
too high jerk setting (15 mm/s is ok mostly)
stepper drivers set too low (check for 0.55v)

An other mean and not obvious source of x/y-axis jumping can be wrapping.

If the edges of the printed object bend up (wrapping) faster than the printer moves in z direction then the extruder runs in a collision.
Small collisions can be handled, larger cause an x/y-axis jump and bigger can make that the printed object is pushed from the table.
