Y-axis auto home stopped working

Hi,

My y-axis auto home stopped working, i’ve tried resetting both the computer, software and printer several times but to no avail. The y-axis moves in both directions if i do manual control in repetier, only when i select Y-home it goes in the wrong direction like 5 steps instead of moving towards the endstop.

Any ideas what this can depend on?

Check on both ends if the end-stop is not disconnected.

The printhead is moving away from the endstop, not towards it this is the strange thing. Maybe 5 cm away from endstop every time i do auto home.

I checked that everything is connected. The red led is shining and all.

Try cleaning it with a Q-tip.
Or swap it with one of the others to see if it’s really defective.

Brilliant, this solved it! Thanks both of you for your suggestions :).

Glad to hear it’s working!!

So, total n00b here. I’ve assembled and calibrated my printer and it works just fine, except that there’s no filament coming out at start of print so the “frame”
that’s printed around the object becomes just nothing, or just a very small hint of it. But filament start to flow when printing the real object, or at least very soon after so the end result is still ok.

If this happens when you first load the filament.
When you insert the filament into the tube to load it are you able to see 10 to 15cm in the tube.

If this happens after you print something and start another print.
Make sure the hot end turns off after the print is done.
If it stays on the plastic will melt and drain out of the hot end.
