X axis not homing any more

For some reason my ‘autohome’ function stopped working properly. I did work fine before.

Printing works fine (after I manually move the head to the 0-point on the far right).

When sending a auto-home command, the head moves to the right on the x-axis (but not left), then the y-axis move forward and backwards to 0, and the z-axis aligns. So when I auto-home 3 times in a row, the head moves 3cm to the left every time. My diagnosis would be that the x-endstop sensor is sending out false info.

I checked the x-stop connector and wire continuity.

Any hints or suggestions?

Strangely enough, the problem suddenly disappeared exactly the way it appeared… D?

Bad contact perhaps?

I have no idea, could be. I just hope it won’t be a returning issue. But at least for now it is gone.

Stepper cables tight?

Strange enough, the problem has reappeared even though i didn’t change anything (well, i moved it about a bit when i noticed the bug reappearing). I’m thinking the wire in the end-stop is not making the best contact. But before I start messing with it, i’d just wanted to let you know this has turned up again. Actually, I hope it disappears the same way (quickly and silent).

Are you zapping it with static electricity?
I touched the extruder handle (the metal handle) and it stopped.
May be there is some dirt on the end stop.
You could clean it with a dry Q-tip.

I got a multimeter and such, perhaps i should give it a good checkup, when the current print is done.

I removed the endstop, cleaned it, reassembled it, and tested it. Now it works again as it should. Can’t definitely say it was a speck of dust or a bad wire connection… At least i know it is not broken

Hope it stays that way.

Worst case the sensor is broken and I need to replace the endstop unit… No big deal.
