X axis belt jumping

Hello all,

I completed the build of my K8200 yesterday and went through the calibration this morning. The outline prints precisely but when the printer is filling in the x axis occasionally jumps, causing the infill to continue about 2cm out of place. I have tested it with multiple downloaded files of different items but they all appear to give the same issue.

Things I have tried:

  • Re-seat x axis motor to ensure it is straight
  • Re-adjust x axis belt and adjusted tension
  • Changed x axis motor to 0.55 V
  • Removed the heat bed to adjust the x axis linear bearings, ensuring the axis doesn’t snag

I’m stuck for ideas to try in an attempt to resolve the issue. Any help will be much appreciated, hopefully I can get it printing soon.

p.s. I’ve got a few bits to do today, but hopefully later I’ll get a chance to take a video of it.

Cheers
Jim

Did you Pay attention to the pulleys too? Mabe one of them slips on the motor axis.

Video would be a great help.

Check the pulleys on the other end.
Make sure they are not to tight and can turn freely

Thank you for the suggestion. I will check that the pulley isn’t too tight.

I won’t be able to check for a couple of hours or so, but will let you know how that went as soon as I can along with a video.

Cheers
Jim

Update:

I have adjusted the pulley and that didn’t solve my problem so I decided to go through the calibration steps again just in case I missed something. It turns out that the X-axes motor controller was set to 0.7V so I changed it back to 0.55V and all appears to be working perfectly now.

I must have missed the X-axes motor trimming when going through the set-up first time round.

Thank you all for your input, it is much appreciated.

Cheers
Jim

Hey, nice to hear it works now.
Happy printing!

Thank you. It’s an amazing feeling seeing a 3d printer work after spending a couple of days building and calibrating it. I’m looking a bit like a Cheshire cat now, just need to work on my 3D CAD skills now

Thank you
Jim

Glad to hear it’s working.

Happy printing!!
