I bought this kit last year (2022) in May but have only just now assembled it.
When I connect the 9V battery and then push the button, the backlight of the LCD lights on but nothing else happens.
As I am not having a lot of experience with soldering, I have attached some pictures of the result. So, I would appreciate if some good soul could have a look at these.
Are there any other reasons for this kit not working, apart from poor soldering?

You did really well with your soldering!
I do see some cold solder points, though. Just re-apply heat to the pad, and adding solder will fix these.
Just took some examples.

So, I applied fixes to some of the joints.
But without success.

In the meantime I figured out that in the past this same problem occurred to several outher user. And in those cases replacing the CD4050 IC seemed to have solved the issue.
So?
Yes that’s correct.
I just wanted to check the soldering to exclude any soldering issue.
