WSAH172 Sound Star VU meter issue

Hi,
All the lights stay on constantly, and the star doesn’t respond to sounds. What should I check for?

Main Issue: The manual/instructions are difficult to follow. Step 9 seems to imply that the flap (third leg/casing) should be grounded.

Solution: Grounding the mic casing resolved the issue, and the board functioned as expected.

Suggestions for the Developers:

  1. Improve Step 9: Make it clearer and more precise, as it’s crucial for proper functionality.
  2. Clarify Step 8: Provide more detail or explanation.
  3. Avoid Duplicate Step Numbers: Having two Step 1 sections is confusing, especially for beginners learning soldering and electronics. A suggested sequence could be:
  • Step 1: Jumper
  • Step 2: Resistor
  • Step 3: LEDs
  1. Enhance Copper Thickness: The current copper thickness is too thin, making it prone to overheating and breaking. Increasing its thickness would improve durability.
