Got no problem with the PIC supplied with the board. Programmed OK, Played around with OK. But when I put in PIC16F84A, I could not get any to program att all, get write error something like “write 02af read 03ff”, no matter what demo program or configuration setting I try.
It is not the chip as I have tried 3 or 4, all to the same effect.
I may be missing the plot somewhere, but I am new to PIC, PLC’s are my forte. HELP! Please. :shock :

Managed to resolve the above, upped the power supply by a volt.
upped the power supply by 0.5 volts - it appears quite critical when it comes to write op. A case of learning by doing.
