I think it would be better that the kit was solder less. That is standard connectors were already attached to the motors / switches etc and the cabling had connectors so it is just a case of connecting it all together. This would make fixing broken parts and disassembly easier. The ribbon cable is not really up to the job. In the first day of use I had the ribbon cable for the y axis micro switch fail. Replaced with more robust wiring.
I have had the same problem on Y motor
I have replaced ribbon cable on Y motor by better wire quality and now it’s working good
Since two days it’s the ribbon cable of the thermistor of the heatbed who is cut
I will replace it by better wire quality
I have already say on another post the quality of ribbon cable of velleman is very very bad quality
I think we must change ALL ribbon cable by another one better
None of customers has a problem with the ribbon cable. I agree it doesn’t always look good and I also doubted about the connection to the heated bed but after many hours of printing and tweaking it prooves working well. The first weeks I also thought about replacing but now I will not do it.
