New to the forum and only started to build my printer but I am UK based and my printer was supplied with a 2 pin plug. I am good with all the mechanical elements but not so good with the electronic/wiring elements of the build.
Can someone link to me a suitable alternative to the 2 pin supplied which is rated to correct voltage/current etc.
All you need is a length of standard twin core and earth mains lead and a plug, or you could just buy a ready-made IEC C13 mains cable, cut off the female plug, strip the wires and wire it up to the PSU. Make sure it’s rated for at least 10A though as the printer has heating elements. Something like this, but you could buy one in any electrical or DIY shop: cpc.farnell.com/1/1/195877-pro-e … lk-2m.html
I would strongly recommend though if you feel up to some fairly simple wiring to install a fused and switched panel mount IEC C14 socket, it’s a lot more convenient than pulling the plug out of the wall every time you need to turn the printer off. Once you get your printer up and running you can find suitable designs on Thingiverse (or other 3d model site of your choice), I used this one (farnell.com/datasheets/3411.pdf
