hello!
as a school we are looking for a device like the wfs210. the app looks great so far on our tablet but
-
the app is not visible in the appstore for mobile phones. could you please change the attributes of the app to make it usable for mobile phones, too. it would be great to let our students use their own mobile phones for measuring. we don’t have a tablet for each student yet.
-
while still not owning a wfs210 yet, the demo mode didn’t show any possibility to export the visible data to other apps. at least a cvs export functionality would be great for further analysis. i didn’t try the windows-version so far: is it possible to export the windows-data to some other file format as cvs or xls? would be nice for integrating etc.
with those two issues fixed, we would go for some of your devices.
thank you!
Hi,
1.) The app is indeed only available for tablet this is simply because there is no layout made for smartphones, it would need a complete redesign of the layout. There are a lot of buttons that need to be displayed at the same time which takes a lot of screen space.
2)This is a great idea to add to the app. I’ll add it to the list of features that could be implemented in the next update.
Also you can take a look at the source code of the apps on github( github.com/velleman ) and modify as you wish…
The protocol between the app and the scope can be found here => velleman.eu/downloads/0/info … wfs210.pdf

thank you for the fast reply.
the implementation of the export functionality would be great.
regarding the smartphone app:
mind the use case of schools: every pupil has a mobile phone: would be great for schools to use them as monitor of the wfs. not all of the buttons have to be visible at once. but it would be a great benefit and a good argument to spread the news to other schools.
please think about it. our school waits for a device as this since years!
thanks again!
Currently there is no plans for making the app smartphone compatible.
We will take ofcourse note of your suggestion. And discuss it for future releases.
And if time is an issue, then the fastest way is to look at the source code and modify it.
if you go that route, and have problems with the code i’m happily to assist you =) (while the code is relative fresh in my brains)

I would also like to be able to use the app on an android smart phone.
Is the app completely unusable with a smart phone screen size, or is it just hard to see the small font?
I tried changing the source code (with normal screen size enabled to test) but did not manage to compile the apk.
What error do you see? Did u fork it on github?
