VMM 188 Re-triggerable One Shot Mode

I read the documentation and searched this forum but did not see an answer to my question.

In one shot mode where is the trigger input? Can this device function as a re-triggerable one shot (monostable)?

Scenario:

5V to 12V high pulse applied to a trigger input.
Output fires the relay for a specified period and resets.
Next trigger pulse starts the cycle again.

Thank you in advance.

There is no trigger input. The unit starts when power is applied.

and the support did not answer my question:
i’m currently looking for a timer to put on an indoor fountain (motor driven) and probably a fog machine regulary every 8 and a half minutes for one minute and as i could not find this in electronic timers, i guess i have to use a kit. Can you recommend one of yours that seem adequate - only I don’t know which would be the easiest and reliable to use?

VELLEMAN K8015 MULTIFUNCTION RELAY SWITCH (for bigger instruments like also the fog machine?)

VELLEMAN MK188 1S - 60H PULSE-PAUSE TIMER (looks suited?!)
VELLEMAN VM188 1S - 60H PULSE-PAUSE TIMER (difference to the above?)

VELLEMAN MK111 INTERVAL TIMER (too small?)

VELLEMAN #K2579 (start stop timer cannot be put on loop?)

  • I’m currently in Edmonton, Canada and a local dealer has only in store: VELLEMAN
#K2579 & MK 111 but could probably order others)
  • It would be nice if the piece were adjustable to both 110V as well as 230 Volt currency.

Thanks for your advice! best,

Thank you in advance.[/quote]

VM188/MK188 is probably best suited as interval timer.
MK is kit version, VM is assembled version.
Both units run from 12VDC but they are able to switch 110/230VAC.

I am searching for the following one shot mode:

My car have a start/stop system which can be disabled by a button (momentary switch) after 3 seconds the car has starting by the key and the software is read and readdy for setting functions.
Because my car runs on gas it is not welcome that the motor stop (by the start/stop system) each time when I am standing still for a trafficlight.
Of course I can disable this by the button (momentary switch) on my dashboard when I start the trip. But every new trip I have to do this (because this is not be regonized by the system) and often I forget this.
So I am searching for a solution to disable the start/stop system automatically after starting the car each new trip.
The dealer cannot disable this start/stop system permanent in the software.

Instead of the momentary switch on the dashboard I like to use the VM188.
After starting my car the 12 volt current will go then to the board VM188.
Then the relay have to wait 3 - 5 seconds before it give a pulse of 1 second (connecting like a momentary switch)
After this the connection must stop because the function (start/stop disable) from my car is set then and it is no need to make longer connection for the switch.
I have tried to hold the button longer then one second and this give no fault, but I think it is more nice that the connection is one time set for one second like pressing and releasing the button.

Is this possible with the VM188?
Hope someone can advise me.

Best regards,

Martin

Yes, this is possible.
Select one shot mode and start with pause, then pulse.
