VMA321 Lithium Battery Charging Board

I would like to use a thermistor on the VMA321. Pin 1 is for TEMP, and is tied to ground, as expected. I would sever the link, then tie the thermistor to the pin. Before I do, will I have any luck in achieving my goal, or is the use of a thermistor not possible?

Normally it’s not possible to do. But if you’ll will thermal protection (for more safety) you should to redesign the PCB to this:
