VM202 USB board

HI
I have purchased two of these little boards - they look interesting as a low-cost means of providing mp3 background musinc in our shop (saves having to change the CDs every 40 minutes!)

It’d be great if they could play ‘random’ tracks - I notice that the pcb seems partly unpopulated, and that there are unused connector pads, particularly J2 ‘R/LN’ - would it be too much to guess that connecting RN to the central ‘Ground’ pin would cause ‘random’ track play ?

Have you any additional info on these boards, please ?

Thanks
Adrian

Sorry, there is no way of playing random tracks with this unit.
Hint: shuffle the files (e.g. by adding a random number in the filename and then sorting them alfabetically) and put them on a USB stick.
Next, leave the player powered. It will continuously loop all files.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have additional info / cct diagram on this board - as it would be interesting to know what the extra connections are for!

Thanks
Adrian

Grand - thanks

Hello,
I bought 10 pieces of this unit and I use them in deices I built.
I have some feedback:

  1. I bought 10 new 2GB USB-Sticks and they did work only sporadically.
Older USB-Sticks seem to work fine. I tried different from 64MB to 1GB.

  2. for my devices it’s not good that the modules start playing after power on.
It would be great if there could be a jumper, where I can define to play or not after power up.
Or only begin to play when I press the start button.

Hope you can give us a Firmwareupdate, that we can put on a USB-Stick and update the Device.

Sorry, these devices are not programmed devices, so they cannot be updated.
