VM201 : chip U1, sockets SK15 & SK16

Hi there Velleman Support,

Just today I received my VM201.

The quality of the board and the parts on it are SUPERB!

Very happy with it!

One question:

On the right lower corner of the VM201 PCB, I see an empty place:
On the PCB is printed:
U1 (36 pin smd chip), with sockets on both sides: SK15 and SK16

It this for future features? An Arduino maybe??

As I don’t have a schematic of the VM201, I have no clue what can be put there.

Could you tell us about this empty U1 socket please?

Best regards from Soesterberg, NL

Welcome to the forum.

Not that I know anything about the VM201.

Just 73 from WI3CK.

During development, we looked at the possibility of adding a wireless module, however this feature is not implemented.

Thanks!!

Wireless would be very cool as an option. Maybe later!!

Thanks for this GREAT product.
