Greetings, I have been using a vm154 for over a year (since January 2010) with no issues. Last week, a problem developed: When the timer switches on, the fan does not come on, although the LED illuminiates.
I have confirmed that the fan still works if supplied with power. The fan is rated 0.3A @ 230V.
With the timer on and the fan connected, I measure 0V across the M terminals. With the timer on and no load, I measure around 100V across the M terminals, though the line voltage is 230V.
Visual inspection of the components and PCB does not reveal anything unusual to my eye.
For some reason, the relay is not energized, or maybe it is defective.
The 100V you measure is due to the fact that a VDR is put in parallel with the relay contact.
The module comes with a 2 year warranty. You can return the module for inspection/repair.

Greetings, I posted the vm154, along with original purchase receipt and problem description, on 7 april to Velleman Kit Tech. Dept. / Legen Heirweg 33 / 9890 Gavere BE, but thus far no answer. Can you please confirm receipt and let me know when I might expect its return?
