VM147 Questions

Hello,

I going to use a VM147 counter module in my guitar pickup winder project. I was able to find another post on the forum about the VM147 being used for the exact same project. However, it did not go into a lot of technical detail.

My questions are;

  1. Is there a specific type of optical reflector sensor that owners have found to work best with the VM147?

  2. In the other forum post I mentioned, it was stated that the sensor should have an open collector. I found open collector sensors at Mouser.com. The options are “open collector buffered” and “open collector inverter”. Is there a specific type of open collector that needs to be used?

  3. In order to connect the sensor to the VM147 are any other circuits/components needed?
