Vm110n

Dear,

I have a Velleman VM110N (PVM110N-1). When I use the test buttons on it, there is no problem.
When I use an external input and connect that to i1, it goes wrong:
I press the button on the external input, then in the test software you see a checkmark on i1, but also on i3 and that is not correct.
When I use an external input and connect that to i2, it goes wrong:
I press the button on the external input, then in the test software you see a checkmark on i2, but also on i1, wich is not correct.

Is the card defect, or do I something wrong?

Is your external switch connected between the digital input and GND?
What checkmarks do you see if you take a piece of wire and connect sequentially each digital input I1…I5 to GND?

When testing the digital inputs with a wire, please connect only one input at a time to GND.

Only I1 to GND -> checkmarks
Only I2 to GND -> checkmarks
etc.

One possible reason to this problem may be some sort of electromagnetic disturbance.
You may try following solution: Add 100nF ceramic capacitors between the digital inputs and GND.
Is it maybe possible that the input bridge is connected wrong or something else defect?
This may be the cause.
I have a Velleman VM110N (PVM110N-1). When I use the test buttons on it, there is no problem.

Yes, I did understand that, when I do that, the checkmarks are as expected on the correct input.
I think these results indicate the card may be not defective.
Could it be the input device that is causing this?
This may be possible.
If it could be, could this be solved with that 100nF ceramic capacitors?
In some cases this may help.
If yes how to connect those and is there difference between those things?
Just connect them between the input terminals and GND terminal. Any ceramic capacitor will do the job. Just make sure the capacitors are rated to high voltage enough for your application (e.g. 50V).

I think 50V capacitors should be OK.

So the problem is not electromagnetic disturbance.
It seems the problem is that the output from the button of the DJ Mixer is not compatible with the VM110N.
There should be just a switch to close the digital input to GND.
Do not feed any voltage to the digital inputs of the VM110N.
