I have been using a pre-assembled VM110 happily for years now. However, I accidentally shorted the “clamp” input with DC 12V connected to Digital out 1 and afterwards this output seemed continually closed (/shorted) regardless of the status of the LED - but I was able to continue using the other digital outs. Unfortunately the next time I powered up the board the Power LED comes on and LD8 flashes twice but then stays on. I also cannot connect to the board anymore.
Is there a particular component on the board I can change that would be likely to get it up and running again?
You may try following: Remove the damaged IC4 and try again if the board is detected by the PC.
Yes it is detected if I remove IC4 - how do I get a replacement?
Your Velleman distributor (i.e. the place where you bought your product) is the best source for spare parts.
OK thank you. Interestingly I put the IC back in and everything appears to be working again. Perhaps the IC has some short-circuit protection it is able to rest from?
