I am very new to this, and am working out what to most are very simple things. I can do that. But I’ve created three fixtures in DMX player. An Elation Dimmer, A Swarm4 light fixture and a ADJ FX Fusion Bar 4, using the first 14 DMX addresses. They work, it’s controlling them well. I’ve added a Scene and have it working at start up to turn on the fixtures to warm up.
But when I add a second Scene however, and save it once (As a uniquely named show), it reopens with 12 fixtures! 4 of each with sequential DMX addresses. The Scene still works, but the labels are of course totally off.
Is this a known issue or have I walked into something? Same effect of two separate computer systems, first an Dell Studio i7 desktop with Win 7 64 bit, second an old Dell with 32 bit Vista.
I did figure out a workaround that involved resetting the correct number of fixtures in the .SHW file using a text editor (I found the number of fixtures matched the number of channels as it saved). This allowed me to accomplish something today. I am developing the show on the Win7 system, but will used the Vista laptop to run it at events. The edited .SHW file seems to work on both but if I could just save the thing without the extra steps it will be much preferred. In either case, this is FAR better than the mechanical controller it’s replacing!

This also indicates the problem is most probably related to the software “DMX-LightPlayer”.
This software is third party product from DJ Swakke.
The files K8062D.DLL and K8062E.EXE act as a ‘link’ between the DMX-LightPlayer software and the VM116 hardware via USB.
Replacing these files with the new version can not fix the problem.
