Vertext - Printer software Repetier 1.0.6 corrupt 3d screen

I can load, slice and print an object (Vertex logo) but I can’t see it in the 3d view area which consists of short vertical bars angled from bottom left to top right.
I can get the 3d view ok in repetier 2.0.0

Windows XP laptop

Is there a setting or could it be the video driver?

it maybe you video card.
Do you have another computer to try it on?

It works fine on a windows 10 machine but I had hoped to use the old XP laptop
