Vertex

Bonjour,

Upgrading will be very difficult and should be thouroughly tested before it can be marketed. This would take the Velleman crew almost equal time than designing a new one. So I can understand that only a complete new model is going to appear on the market. Furthermore I do have the same opinion of you: as a shop I also have to invest the price of a new machine and I also need to invest time again to build this.

Did you follow the article how to convert the K8200 to a CNC machine? This looks a very good further use of the “old” K8200. I think I will advise my customers to do that. What do you thing about this?

for me , the best solution for Velleman is to sell upgrade packs for the k8200 that contains :

  • Better solution for the Z axe. ( flex coupler, Z microswitch system and maybe the second axe )
  • Better extruder with hotend.
  • better flat heat bed.

with this 3 modifications , i think that this product will be verry good as between the 8200 and the 8400 : the Velleman K8300 !!

am new user of 3D printers and i really enjoyed the assembly of the printer.
am now working on the imporvements and this is really fun, (when we get better results of course  )

i bought this printer for this mod. i need to make several PCB , and realy want to test it !

Great ideas!

For the Z-axis there is a flexible Z coupler available right now already.

Extruder gives again more researchwork and so long test time.
Heatbed should indeed be easier to find/upgrade

Great! Good luck in testing as CNC machine for pcb’s.

We will release a direct drive 0.35mm extruder for the K8200, most likely in january.
Together with the upgrade Z-axis and coupler, you will be able to improve the performance of your K8200.
