Vertex K8800 diagonal rods

Hi Community. I found a Vertex K8800 with some missing parts on the street. I found some information for the missing parts and replicate those. Except the diagonal rods. So i went to some 3d printer stores in my area and they all told me, i should bring the Vertex back and buy a 3d printer. Velleman printers are garbage.
So i won’t believe that until I tested any printer.
But my big problem is, this printer is out of life? Is that true, Velleman doesn’t produce any more spare parts for this printer?
If so, i have to make it by myself. Could anyone tell me the length and the diameter of these diagonal rods (with the magnetic balls)?
Greetings from Switzerland

Dear @Leckerbierchen

Indeed, the printer has been out of production and removed from our assortment for some time due to market competition and pricing, not because of quality issues.

We can still provide you with additional diagonal rods if you need them. How many do you require? Please create a ticket on Customer Care – Velleman – Wholesaler and developer of electronics
or click on the green customer care button on our website: https://www.velleman.eu/ for this request.

Thank you very much. Sadly to read. I like the design. I hope I can make it to work. I want to prove to the last dealer that the printer isn’t that bad after all. The printer seems to be have a big fan base. I found a conversion to uniball rods and other hotends. But I want to test the printer originally.
Thank you for your help and have a good day.

It’s great that you’re trying to restore the Vertex K8800! While it’s true that Velleman has discontinued some of their 3D printers, that doesn’t mean you can’t get it working again. Many parts can be sourced from third-party suppliers or even custom-made.

For the diagonal rods, the original length (including the magnetic ball joints) should be 288mm from center to center, with a 6mm diameter. If you can’t find exact replacements, you might be able to make your own using carbon fiber rods and attaching magnetic ball ends. Some users have also successfully used metal rods of the same length.

Thank you for your response.
I got a mail with a Link to all Parts in 3D.
I made some holder out of M5 cylinder head screws on my lathe.
Works perfectly. But I would like to make some lighter rods out of carbon fiber like my FLsun S1.
One stepper makes weird things. I think the rain destroyed him. Sometimes he doesn’t move and sometimes he move way too fast.
