You are right. ELV no longer sells K8400 !?

But the left no mention about that in their shop website.
Kind of strange…

Almost any fdm printer kit on the market is hazardous to fire.
Even prebuilt and commercial products are.

That’s because the temperatures needed for FDM printing are able to cause fire…

Hello
For me as an old “OM” with a great knownledge, there is no problem with
the K8400 !
But I am wondering why “ELV” sent these mail today morning.
I asked them, but I did not receive an answer !

Regards

Just wondering.

Did they say what the safety concern was?

Oh no …

I don’t care what they say.
I’m keeping mine.
This is a great machine.
LOL

Just to be clear we are not asking to return the Vertex’s.

Hello Vellemann

No,problem, I will keep my printer,too !
It is the best printer I could ever find, and it works really fine

I do only not understand, that “ELV” will take the K8400 back, because of safety ?
But by the other way, they sell thousends of kits, which could make the same problems,
when the seller has no knownledge.
Maybe,there is a little war ;-))

After reading your statement is don’t see aby reason do do so.
I ask myself why elv sells similar power supplies separately, if they are that “dangerous”…

E3D are quite explicit about the hazards associated with using their products and 3d printing in general. Amongst others they make the following statement which I fully concur with:

‘Like all 3D printers, printers fitted with a high temperature all metal hotend can be a fire hazard. You are using experimental technology to heat and melt plastic, in a machine that you may have built or modified yourself, that likely does not have safety certification or significant failsafes. Fire/Smoke alarms, supervision of your printer while printing, and expertise should not be considered optional’
