Velleman please help re LEDs

I’ve just built the printer AOK. Have downloaded driver, and set it up for the appropriate port. The controller board red and green LEDS then lit up as I would expect. Now I have applied power. The instructions say this should ‘do nothing’ at first and if it does I should stop. Mine ‘does’ nothing, BUT the red and green LEDS go out when I apply power. Is this a problem?
