Velleman K8200 - 3Drag 3D printer kit

Hi folks,

I bought the Velleman K8200 3D printer some weeks ago. I have build it and it works perfectly after a few “problems” and little corrections. After some print tryouts and batteling with the print settings it prints very nice. It was very amusing! It was like going back to school. After some research on this forum and internet, I found something -strange-…

So, I want to clarify a few things, just for interest. so we’re on the same line…

Can you tell me what the big difference is between those 3D printers?

I could buy the 3Drag - 3D printer - KIT for €537 + €25 -30 UPS

I have bought the K8200 3D printer for €699 + €15

It looks like the same one…

Is the Velleman K8200 a kind off “update” or is it just another name for the 3Drag printer(clone)? I also read that Velleman and 3Drag “work close togheter”. Can you more clarify?

Different people are talking about a LCD display and SD card as an update for the Velleman K8200. Are we talking about this: http://store.open-electronics.org/Autonomous_Printing_3Drag

Why the price difference?

Thanks for your time.

Greetings Bryan

The 3Drag price is without tax.

Add 21 % to the price given (that’s the current VAT rate in italy, where the 3Drag is based).

Besides, the 3Drag seems to be sold without a heated printing bed (there are contradicting informations about that).

Yes, the 3Drag and the K8200 are quite similar; Velleman uses a different wiring system.
