Velleman K8004 not working at all?

Hello, I bought K8004, it needed soldering, so after I did all what’s needed as shown in the manual. it’s not working, no response at all.

output readings are: 0.01

input readings are: 13 DCv

I tried to play with the trimmers but no luck with making it to work.

Also when I was testing it as mentioned in the user manual, the IC started to heat rapidly.

Please help me I bought 2 and still not working, tell me please what did I do wrong?

please take a look on the images, I hope it to be helpful

Regards.

You could put some very clear and sharp picture on a free website and post the link up here so everyone can take a look at it.
Thank you for your reply, I added the images as you requested. Your help is so much appreciated.

Hi,

What are you using for a control voltage?
Hi,

Yes I’m, as PWM.

I don’t understand your answer.
Are you using a PWM as a control voltage?
You really need a DC voltage or you can use the internal reference as shown in the instructions.

Yes as a voltage control, Also I used DC source for input. and it’s still not working.

what I am is going to do now, is to buy a 3rd one and let the store do the soldering for me. So I can see the difference between it and the one I did.

Thanks for your concern anyway.

I’m still not sure of your answer.

For the control voltage you should use a 0 - 10 volt DC not a PWM
If you look at page 8 in the manual figure C you will see a way you can use the internal reference to control the output.
You can download the manual here

Ok, I want it to control the RPM of a DC motor. As I know that both a PWM and a voltage control will able me to control the DC motor RPM, Am I right ?

Also, as I tried to follow the Manual I ended up with the board as you can see it above in the Images, So I tried to build it as Figure A.

So tell me please what did I do wrong ?

Thank you.
