Usb header

my usb header has just came adrift from the motherboard is this a hard thing to replace.

Hi

I think it must be a weakness because mine came adrift last nite.

After a quick search of the Internet, the instructions were found and this morning I
Stripped a 3m USB cable and soldered the four wires to the board. Plugged in all the connections and now my printer is working again.

Having hard soldered the connections, I feel like the weak spot as been removed.

I hope you have good soldering skills. These wires are small. If you look at the pictures contained within the thread below, you will notice that there are holes in the PCB where the Green & White wires attach, I took ground from the 12v black connectors ground ( where the outer pad touches the PCB) and having pretinned the red wire with a small blob of solder. Held it between the two smd’s on the PCB with some tweezers and gentle melted the solder blob. Hey presto. A beautiful repair.

I think direct connection of the cable has also some disadvantages.
Disconnecting cable is easy for mobility. Therefore I think that if the power cable is also disconnected. It would be easy to move or carry it.
I had the same problem, I have soldered the usp socket and than I have used special glue to fix it to the board.
I know soldering is not easy since the legs are very thin.
