Update hotend, which one

I want to upgrade my k8200 with a new extruder.
I was thinking about a E3D v6 extruder

But which one is the best choice?
3mm filament or 1,75 filament

I have read somewhere that the 1,75mm filament is going to be the future.
And i also noticed that there is more choice in 1,75 filament then in 3mm filament.

At this point i choose for 1,75mm extruder, but maybe there are other differences?

If you wat to reuse the stock extruder from velleman you’d have to stick with the 3mm direct version.
The stock extruder isn’t designed to feed 1.75mm filament. But it can be tailored to do that.

I chose the 3mm version for printing flexibles, as that is lots easier with 3mm filament.

The 1.75mm extruders are smaller, and thus make them more usable for multiextrusion. Also they are cheaper to manufacture.

Printing as such ist’t much of a difference if you use 3mm or 1.75mm filament.
What is true that there is more choice in 1.75 because new printers tend to use 1.75mm.
Both has advantages and drawbacks.

For now i’m pretty happy with my 3mm v6 hotend and it’s printing results.

cheers,

Christian

Maybe i want to print flexibles too.
Then i go for the 3mm extruder.
Thanks
