UK power supply

I have just completed the assembly of the printer and unpackaged the PSU (power supply unit) to plug it in and found that the power supply has no plug connected to the DC end, just bare wires. Also the mains power lead supplied does not connect to the PSU, the PSU has a 2 pin socket and the mains power lead has a three pin plug (clover leaf shape).

has anyone else had this problem for systems bought in UK? I bought it from maplin.

If anyone has overcome this problem what size is the DC plug and what orientation is it connected?

Many thanks!

Hi,

You will need to connect the wires to the blue screw connector on the control board.
You find this information under using the printer.

Thanks “wrong way” for the quick reply! I see that section now!

Make sure that you set the baud rate to 250000 and “Reset on Connect” to disabled.
Seems a lot of people (myself included) miss that part.

Enjoy your printer!!

Hi malford,

so this leaves the power cable issue. If I understand you correctly, the cable ends in a plug like this:

while the supply would connect to this kind of plug?

Cheers,
kuraasu

Most likely, your UK distributor has removed the cable with Euro plug and replaced it with a cable with UK plug, but most likely they made a mistake.
In such case, please contact your UK supplier.
We can supply a spare cable that will fit the power supply, however, we do not carry UK plugs.
In such case, you can cut the plug and replace with a UK type.
Please let us know if you would like to receive a cable.
