Tried but not work: K8048 not found at COM1

i have tried to use the pic16f627, but i still facing the same problem.
I’m using the rs232 that come together with the vm111 package (9 pins), how can i check whether the serial port on the host laptop have ‘hardware handskaking’ enable( the flow control?)?
I have checked that no other software/device is occupied the COM1.
what other possible faulty do you recommend?and how can i solve this problem?

Get a multimeter and check that the Voltage of the host computer serial interface when idle is 12V.

check your cable between the computer and the platform. I had a “k 8048 not found” - problem also, but it disappeared when I changed the cable to another one
