Tip:Z-Axis crash right into Microswitch without modification

This is another problem which you run into by following 1:1 to the official assembly guide from the manufacturer.

Problem

  • If you do the assemble of Z-Axis Microswitch as stated in the official manual it will crash right into the Microswitch. So under circumstances the microswitch can be without any function because the aluminum Z-axes structure stops mechanically before it reaches the microswitch.
    See foto below.

Solution

  • Use a bigger screw with some washers in between the microswitch and the Z-Axis aluminum frame so that the Z-Axis-arm-holder does not crash into the Microswitch. See foto below

PS: The mount of the microswitch is very flexible because it is mounted only with one screw. This can be bad and good. Good: It let’s you adjust when the microswitch should turn ON and bad because this microswitch is not fixed and therefore will move downwards. So be prepared for a Z-Axes CRASH.

You’re right mountig the switch with some distance to the aluminium plate is mandatory.
Alternatively you can mount the motor a little bit deeper than mentioned in the manual, so the screw will poke out a little bit more.

Just an other hint: I mounted the screw 180° rotated (with the head looking to the top) so you can adjust it much more easier!
