My K8400 was working fine during a long time (till now).
I have a dual head implemented
First the right extruder couldn’t warm up (just reached 180°C)
Now the left extruder couldn’t also reach the desired temperature.
What’s the problem? The heather? Drivers?
Can someone help me out on this problem
Is the voltage from the power supply at 15 volts DC when the heaters are on?
I will check that and then I come back with the result.
Please give a little bit more detailed description:
- is the heater fully on? (red LED constantly on)
- which voltage can you measure at the heater connections at the print head?
- can you measure the temperature of the hotend independently (e.g. with a thermocouple)?
- did you make a mechanical modification/cleaning of the hotend before?
- did you use a thermal grease for the mounting of the heater block or the temperature sensor?
Maybe this helps you to find possible other reasons for thermal drift.
hoh61’s post made me think.
Are the screws that hold the thermistor wires tight?
When you changed the firmware did you use Arduino software 1.0.6 or lower?
The higher versions do not play nice with the Velleman printers.
