Support settings in Cura Slicer

Hi,

What are the best settings for support in the Cura Slicer? I print with PLA.
When I use support it’s quite difficult to remove it… I’m sure that some settings tweaking would help.
It’s normally that it sticks to the print (that’s the purpose of support :o ). But it should be also more easy to remove.

I know we can use HIPS as support and dissolve it however I only have one extruder so that’s no possible at the moment…

I’m using default support options, touching bed I think. The key for me was to manage extrusion multiplier and steps per mm for extruder so that when I extrude 10mm I get 10mm, then you get support that can be removed quite easily

You can try setting a higher X/Y and Z distance and/or different fill rates for the support.
Raise the distance values step by step till you find it suitable.

I think 15% fill in is OK otherwise you don’t have any support anymore.
I will try to adjust the X,Y,Z distances.
