What temperature setting bed when printing bigger object?,I/m problem with unsticking object.
The measured temperature of my bed is 65C in the centre and 60C out to within 1"/25mm or so of the edge.
Set temperature is 70C.
What kind of material are you printing?
Do you use the stock heatplate ?
For PLA I use 55 degrees and for ABS I use 70 but I do have the upgraded power supply to get tot he higher temperatures.
One tip and the best in my opinion is to use some wood glue diluted in water for Pla and an ABS slurry in acetone for ABS.
I was having trouble with prints lifting or dragging into solid infill’s on the first layers before I tried the above and now it works great every time.
PLA: wood glue (also known as PVA glue) this is white in colour and available at any DIY store, 2 table spoons into a 500ml bottle and top up with water. Shake before use and paint onto bed with a small paintbrush (10mm width is about right). Wait for bed to heat up and evaporate the mix. When dry you wont see any sign of it on the bed but its there. You can now start printing. *let bed cool completely after the printer has finished or you will bend the bed trying to remove the object. A removal tool is handy which I made from a Stanley knife blade.
I do one application every 5 prints and just use water on the other 4 which spreads the dried mix evenly again. You will learn how often or how much to add each time just don’t splash any electrics with it.
ABS: Acetone into a small glass jar (mine is a small airbrush paint jar 50ml?) and snip about 30mm of ABS filament into it and let it mix for 20 minutes. Apply the same as above but it will leave a visible shiny finish to the bed. Prints should be stable but you need to apply every time. *Acetone is nasty stuff, don’t let it come into contact with anything you don’t want damaged. Don’t breath it in or get lots onto a your skin. You can buy this from Hair salons or suppliers and its dirt cheap (£2 for a litre). You will need to wash it off it you want to use PLA again and is time consuming to do so.
Good luck
just try to use Brim with a reasonable width (100 or so)
my objects stick to the bed (glass plate on top) very good then
I use 60 to 70 °C for PLA and 90°C for ABS, with no additional tape or glue or everything
I print with PLA.
Bed temp starts at 60C then goes up to 70C
I also use a glass plate and put a misting of hair spray on it.
Sometimes getting the print off of the bed can be a problem.
thanks
I will use it.(glue on wood)
