Stuck filament

What can i do to prevent getting stuck the filament in the printing head. I have a dual printing head and i have the problem with both heads. The filament most of the time gets stuck at the top of the lightbrown isolationtube between the printing cone and the top screwnut. The filament gets thicker there and doesn’t move forward or backward. I alwas have to disassemble the isolation tube and to remove the stuck filament, which is a very annoying job.

Why not?
Why not?
Because the filament will stay too long in the hot-end without being extruded increasing the risk of burning it (and the default temperatures are too hot).

Ah.Thank you

I can confirm the statement.
Having the two heads preheated, but doing some additional settings for abt 20 Minutes, the filament on both nozzles are blocked.
Did not hav the fan on, because I was planning to print the first layer.

I had to strip down the two heads in total… costs me abt 45 minutes with readjusting.

Ever since, I switch the fan on, or I wait until I am ready to print.
no probe anymore

I think the blockages happen as the filament sits in the hot printhead and forms a “bulb” at the end of the filament that then jams when you next try to print. I lower the fan rate via the gcode on heat up to try and avoid this and can’t remember the last time I had a blocked nozzle.

I asked why because raby’s post sounded there was a diferent reason :stuck_out_tongue:
I’ve got 3x the filament stuck but never on the hotend.
First 2 was the filament too thick and getting stuck at the guide ( first time was REALLY stuck, needed pliers )
And last time I used a small piece that doesn’t appear in the assembly manual and it seems is not used for anything except the test the section of the filament. After 2nd time it got stuck I inserted that piece in the filament and it got another section too think and prevented it from loading it in to the loader
