Strange print pattern

Who can explain this imperfection?

You’re under extruding, the top surface has gaps between the lines. The damaged area is the extrusion curling up around the nozzle.

Paul,

Thanks for your suggestion. Because it happens not always (it also depends on the filament used I think), it took some time to be abel to test it. However, now I was printing a number of item which shows the problem systematically. And indeed the problem could be solved by increasing the value of the “extrusion multiplier”.

Do you use the velleman extruder?

yes

the velleman extruder is not very easy to calibrate.

Do you use slic3r as slicer? Then you can edit the settings under extrusion width to correct underextrusion.
Anyway setting the correct steps/mm for the extruder and the REAL filament diameter in slicer can help

I have found that with the White you may need to increase the temp a little.
I generally run mine at 190C for white 195 - 197 seems to work a little better.

Also my experience is that the white filament is more sensitive to loss the connection with the base. However, adjusting the value of the extruder multiplier appeared to be helpfull.

I have similar problems with white filament.
So far I have only experimented with the temperature, but it appears, that I should try to adjust the extruder multiplier instead.

Any suggestions to what the multiplier should be adjusted to?

That depends heavily on your special machine setup, filament and extruder.
Just fiddle around with it a bit and i think you can find a working setting.

Just note that changing the overall extrusion multiplier does greatly affect ALL layers, not only the first one.

I increased it from 1.15 to 1.20.
