I just finished to build my Vertex k8400.
I also have a k8200 and i had no problem with it except a motor die so i buy a k8400
I have many problems with this k8400 …
First i would like help about softwares.
I use Repetier-Host for mac and i had no problem with k8200, but i can’t find a way to set up it good for k8400.
I connect, i can move axes from it, but when i start a print, it always try to heat the bed, but k8400 have no heating bed !. I cannot find a way to say to the program this.
Can someone help me please ? it is so desapointed to had buy a machin 700€, use 2 days to build it and cannot use it just coz i don’t have PC !!
Are you using the Vertex build of Repetier? In that, there are settings that tell Cura that there is no heated bed to heat up before printing. If you are, and it’s still not working you can go into the Gcode and remove the part that has to do with heating the bed. It should say something like “M140 (I think) 50 (possible bed temperature)” and also will probably have some comments about it heating up the bed, if you remove that, then the bed shouldn’t attempt to heat up.
Thank you for your reply.
I cannot use Vertex build Repetier coz it does not exist : i am a mac user.
That’s true, i can just edit gCode but that’s not cool … i bought a machine, i want it run normally.
And i have others problems. For exemple, X and Y endstop don’t work. When i use a “home” command, it run normally, go into sensors but don’t stop … it make big noises for fews seconds (engine stil run but chariot can’t move more) and stop.
Also, sometime the PLA does not run into the noise, i need to push it and then it can run again.
I have many regrets to had bought this Vertex 8400 … 8200 was much more better !
Anyway, thank’s for you help and sorry if i was a little rude, i am just disappointed and angry to had spent so much money for nothing
I was able to transfer all the settings from the vertex version of Repetier into the latest release of Reptier so I could use the newer features. It’s all settings and a link to the Vertex page (which isn’t the most necessary thing).

I screenshotted them, hopefully this can help.

Go to Cura’s settings and import the “Print” settings and the “Filament” settings under the appropriate tabs
I think I had a similar problem where the extruder assembly ran into the pulleys, check to see if that’s happening and if so, just loosen them and move the a little bit closer to the edge so they are out of the way.
If that doesn’t work, you can release the belts and check to see if the assembly moves smoothly from side to side and can move when the printer is tilted. I had luck by putting something between the frame and the black pieces on the x/y carriage and pushing on the frame to get the pieces closer and just pushing from the middle to change the distance between the pieces. This may not seem like it will do much, especially after just pushing the pieces, but I found the difference to be incredible and it helped a ton. You said you had a K8200, so if you haven’t already, try and print these calibration things that really help with aligning the X/Y carriage thingiverse.com/thing:606083
I’m not sure what is wrong with your filament, but I hope this helped. Don’t give up hope on trying to make the K8400 work, my successful prints have been far better than I could have ever dreamed of from the K8200.

I find the Cura software very hard to understand. Could you guide me where I import the files above?
