Sound datalogger not recognised

Hello,

I have bought the sound datalogger DVM173SD and follow all the instructions for the installation with the original CD.

I encountered the following problems:

Installation from the CD :
After I installed the device, I waited for the Usb installation but the window " Found New Hardware Wizard" did not appeared.
I then tried to manually updated the driver through the Device manager, but it was not recognised. I then had the following message: “The Drivers for This Device Are Not Installed. (Code 28)”.

Divers downloaded on the website :
I tried all the versions: Win 7, Win 7 (64) and the 8 and 10 version without any success. I had a different message : “Silabs C8051F320 usb Board - the third party inf file does not contain digital signature information.”

Considering this is not one of the “Velleman For Makers” products.

Anyway;

It seems that the driver for your DVM173SD isn’t installed, or not on the correct way.

Download the driver from here: https://www.velleman.eu/downloads/files/downloads/17364bitv2.0diskdriverdvm173sd.zip

Then extract the zip file, and install the setup file with forced administrator rights.
To do so, just right click on setup file and choose in the menu run as administrator.
Then follow the installation instructions. After installation reboot the PC.
