Something wrong with my K4305 VU-meter

Ok, jst to make things clear, im a complete newbie when it comes to this. I’ve never soldered a circuitboard before so i actually dont have so much of an idea of how it works and stuff. But to the point. I’ve assembled it as the manual said and it doesn’t work. When i put on my power supply, all the LED:s starts shining, and nothing happens when i connect it to my stereo. And about connecting it, i have no idea of how to connect it. What does input (0) mean? I tried connecting high input to + on the speaker output, and the one with a - to - on the speaker output, and nothing happened. And one more thing, does it matter if it is vdc or regular dc in the power supply? Here is the link to all cirtcuit pictures:

And a pic of how i connected it to the stereo:

Connect unit to 12VDC source (not AC!)
Short input (connect GND and IN).
Let us know what happens.

I used a 9v battery and a 1.5v battery to test the power, so i do not think that is the problem, as long as there is no ac current in batterys, and i suppose it is not. And about GND and IN, im a newbie so i dont know what those are. IN is the high input, right? But where is GND?

Ok, so i tested connecting the strange minus token and high-in to eachother and nothing happened. If i’ve got the right info GND is ground, so i also tested to connect high-in to a radiator, but nothing happened.

here is one a little more detailed picture of the soldering underneath the circuitboard:

Sorry, at this time we have no idea what the problem might be related to.
If you wish to do so, you can return your kit for inspection/repair.

Do you mean i can return it to velleman or the vendor i bought it from? And if you mean velleman, will it cost me anything? And again, if you mean velleman, how do i return it?

Thanks in advance!

And also, let em get this straight. The strange minus token means ground? Here is a picture on how i would connect it to my computer. Would this connection work with a battery connected to the power?

And note that i have no idea what im doing. I do not have high experience in this kind of things.

Did you try shorting the input?
(short yellow and white wire)

Yes. Without connecting the two wires, all the LEDs are lit. And when i short circuit nothing happens. Still, all the LEDs are lit.

Make sure you did not mix up D1, D2, ZD1…
