[SOLVED] PCS500 freeze at calibrating please wait

Hi there.

i have an WinXP PC with PCLAB2000SE.
When i start the Software for the scope it sais it calibrating, the dso starts “clicking” and after a while the CPU usage is at 100%, the clicking stops and nothing is happening.
I cant click on any button inside the software and i have to force quit it.

any suggestions?

EDIT: i just saw that i connect +12V instead of +9V. so maybe something with the supply is broken.
I measured the 2 +5V and the -5V, they r there.
Any other components i should check?

Normally there is no problem if 12V is used instead of 9V.
Can you test the PCS500 in other PC?

hmm ill try to find another pc with parallel port then and reffer back here.

Thanks.

hmm in lack of a 2nd lpt pc i uninstalled the software and tryed reinstall.

now i get “Could not open the DriverLINX”
I am administrator and i checked if those 2 files are in the dir.

realy strange

This should help:
Enter regedit: Click Start, Run and type regedit and click OK.
In regedit look under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\

There should be a “DLPortIO” key (folder) in there.
If there is, delete it, close regedit and then reboot.

If no help, please see this thread for other solutions:

i realy dont know why, but the scope is complety working now, after your tip and a reinstall.

Sometimes a fresh install is the best, hehe.
