[SOLVED] K8400 tuning and coarse layer shifting

Hello, I have a K8400 and I’d like to know what could be a good initial settings.

I use Slic3r and PLA filament.

Beside this I’ve noticed that, when I print something, there is a very large layer shifting. No 1 or 2 mm, some cms.

Another problem is that the noozle touches the deposited filament and drags it making little strings of filament.

I guess that all of these problems are about the configuration but I don’t know how to adjust.

Anybody can help me? Thanks in advance.

Layer shifting is due to incorrect alignment of the X-Y axis. Check the Wiki to find an alignment procedure.
Use Cura. It slices a lot better and faster than Slic3r.

This is because you’re extruding too much filament.
Use these parameters :
For PLA t°=190° - flow 75%
Retraction 3 mm at 120mm/s.
Use a wall thickness = multiples of 0.3 (0.3, 0.6, 0.9 etc).

Thanks for your help.

I’ve noticed that the problem comes when I print in the center of the bed. If I put the piece displaced from the center, the head doesn’t “jump” and the printing is correct.

Hello, yesterday I checked the alignment and it was correct. I solved the problem with penetrating oil and water-displacing spray (lubricating spray).

No it prints perfectly.

Thanks.
